ZODIAC BLANKER
Versions 1.0 Copyright © 1991 by Brian Moats.
-------------------------------------------------------------
ZodiacBlanker is screen blanking program that displays the constel-
lations of the zodiac. This saves your screen phosphors while not leaving
you with an empty void.
ZodiacBlanker is easy to run and may be started from the CLI, your
startup-sequence or from the icon.
FROM THE WORKBENCH
Simply double click on its icon. You may set the desired delay in the
ToolTypes gadget. Enter your delay (in seconds) following the BLANK=.
BLANK=0 Run immediately. Terminate after any mouse movement or key press.
BLANK=300 Run, but wait in the background for 5 minutes (300 seconds) of no
mouse or keyboard activity. Terminate by double clicking again.
FROM THE CLI OR STARTUP-SEQUENCE
In a CLI or shell window, or entered in your startup-sequence, use:
ZodiacBlanker Run immediatley or terminate ZodiacBlanker.
ZodiacBlanker 180 Run, but wait in the background for 3 minutes of no mouse
or keyboard activity.
NOTES
1. The constellations are displayed as they are seen along the ecliptic.
The lower ones are summer constellations and the higher ones are winter
constellations.
2. ZodiacBlanker requires about 50k of chip memory when blanking. If this
is not available, it will not blank the screen.
3. ZodiacBlanker detaches from the CLI, there is no need to use "Run".
4. A stack of 2500 should be sufficient. You can set this in the icon or
use the "stack" command prior to running ZodiacBlanker. For example:
stack 2500
ZodiacBlanker 300
stack 4000
This will reduce the amount of memory that ZodiacBlanker requires.
